Inspect it right.Pass it clean.

Online ramp inspection training for the inspectors who carry out the checks and the operators who face them. Built on the EASA Ramp Inspection Programme, the ICAO framework and the FAA ramp check. And SAFEJETS MS to manage everything an inspection leaves behind.

01Frameworks

One discipline.
Three rulebooks.

Europe calls it SAFA and SACA, ICAO calls it surveillance of foreign operators, the FAA calls it a ramp check. The aircraft, the documents and the crew are the same. Our courses teach the method once and show where each regime differs.

EASA
Ramp Inspection ProgrammeSAFA · SACA

EU Member States inspect aircraft of third-country operators (SAFA) and of EU operators (SACA) against a common checklist, and share every report.

  • Regulation (EU) No 965/2012, Annex II (Part-ARO), Subpart RAMP
  • Regulation (EC) No 2111/2005, the EU Air Safety List
  • AMC & GM to ARO.RAMP
ICAO
Surveillance of foreign operatorsRamp inspection

States may inspect the aircraft and documents of foreign operators on their territory, and are expected to run a programme for doing so.

  • Chicago Convention, Articles 16 and 33
  • Annex 6, Operation of Aircraft
  • Doc 8335, Manual of Procedures for Operations Inspection, Certification and Continued Surveillance
FAA
Ramp checkRamp inspection

FAA aviation safety inspectors check pilots, documents and aircraft on the ramp, for US operators and for foreign air carriers serving the United States.

  • FAA Order 8900.1 (FSIMS)
  • 14 CFR 61.3 and 91.203, certificates and aircraft documents
  • 14 CFR Part 129, foreign air carriers

How ramp inspection works

02Training

Two courses.
Both online.

Three days for the people who inspect. One day for the people who get inspected. Join from anywhere, as an individual or as a whole team.

RIT-3 For inspectors

Ramp Inspector Training

The full initial course for people who will plan, carry out and report ramp inspections.

3 days Online, instructor-led
  • Explain the legal basis for ramp inspection under EASA, ICAO and FAA rules
  • Plan and prioritise inspections, and prepare for one on the day
  • Inspect flight deck, cabin, aircraft condition and cargo against the checklist
RIA-1 For operators

Ramp Inspection Awareness Training

One day for the people on the other side of the inspection: the operator.

1 day Online, instructor-led
  • Know when and why an aircraft gets inspected, at home and abroad
  • Know what the inspector checks, area by area
  • Prevent the findings operators receive most often
03The checklist

What the inspector
looks at.

An inspection is short and must not delay the flight without good reason. The EASA checklist sorts what the inspector looks at into five areas, and both courses go through them item by item.

A

Flight deck

  • Licences & medicals
  • AOC & operations specifications
  • Manuals & MEL
  • Flight preparation, mass & balance
B

Safety & cabin

  • Emergency equipment
  • Exits & escape slides
  • Cabin crew members
  • Safety briefing material
C

Aircraft condition

  • General external condition
  • Wheels, tyres & brakes
  • Leaks & fluid servicing
  • Defect notification & rectification
D

Cargo

  • Cargo compartment condition
  • Dangerous goods
  • Load securing
E

General

  • Additional findings
  • General remarks
04Software

After the inspection: SAFEJETS MS.

A compliance and safety management system for aviation operators, with ramp inspection handled end to end inside compliance monitoring.

01

Inspected by an authority

Log a SAFA, SACA or FAA ramp inspection as an incoming audit, from announcement to closure: on site, report received, response in progress, closed. Record the inspecting body, focal point and the authority’s report reference.

02

Inspecting yourself

Run your own ramp checks with EASA-type checklists carrying regulation and AMC/GM references. Answer each item satisfactory, unsatisfactory or not applicable, with evidence files attached to the item.

03

Closing the findings

Ramp findings use their own levels: Category 1, 2, 3A, 3B and 3C. Each gets a root cause (fishbone or 5 Whys, with optional AI suggestions), corrective and preventive action, a due date and an owner.
